How to propose a node

All the proposals for nodes are discussed on the HM
mailing list (hackmeeting @ sindominio.net), so we recommend
that you subscribe to the list at
http://listas.sindominio.net/mailman/listinfo/hackmeeting
to start taking part in the node you propose and to see the
process your proposal follows.

In any case, to propose a node follow the wiki instructions:

Or send a message with the heading «[node] proposal_name» to these two
addresses:

  • hackmeeting @ sindominio.net
  • charlas @ sindominio.net (the latter in charge of coordinating the schedules of the HM node-activities).

In the body of the message we suggest that you fill in the following
form (or modify it to your taste or to the requirements of your
proposal):

  • Information for the public/participants
  1. Format
    1. Talk
    2. Workshop
    3. Round table
    4. Poster
    5. Exhibition
    6. Coordination meeting
    7. Performance
    8. Others
  2. Name of the facilitator, author, coordinator
  3. Title(s)
  4. Summary
  5. Keywords
  6. Recommended knowledge for the participants
  7. Structure/content
  8. Methodology: presentation, discussion, tinkering, etc.
  9. Duration
  10. Recommended readings. For the people who want to get into the topic before getting into the node.
  11. Copirata navigate-action: how could the node be integrated into the demonstration?
  • Information for coordinating:
  1. Necessary material (including the type of space, in case an open space without chairs or whatever is needed).
  2. Schedule preferences
  3. Certainty of attendance (from 1 to 10)
  4. Documents or files of the node (if there are any, to post on the web: slides, texts, programs, etc.)

Other forms of participation

Other forms of participation apart from the activity
nodes (such as contributing material, taking part in the
assemblies, coordinating activities, doing streaming,
translations, etc.) are welcome and necessary. For
more information and coordination the HM assembly meets
virtually and permanently on the hackmeeting @ sindominio.net mailing list. You can subscribe at: http://listas.sindominio.net/mailman/listinfo/hackmeeting

More information

The first hackmeeting was held in Florence in 1998 and since
then they have been repeated annually in Italy (the website
http://hackmeeting.org covers the last HM held in
Italy and links to all the previous ones). In 2000 the first
Spanish-speaking hackmeeting was held in Barcelona and we have been repeating the meeting every year.
