Below we reproduce the Debian press release in Spanish:
Are you a Debian enthusiast and thinking about contributing? We want to guide you in your first steps.
We are convinced that there are lots of people out there who want to get involved in Free Software but do not know where to start. In Debian, the most common task you will do as a contributor is build a package.
The Debian Women project, in collaboration with the OpenHatch project, sponsor an event on IRc to help people who want to compile their first package from the source code and apply their first patch.
The event
On Saturday, 7 May, there will be two sessions in the #debian-women channel of the IRC server irc.debian.org to help people build packages for the first time
The first session, recommended for those who live in Oceania, Asia, Africa and Europe, will take place at 11:00 UTC.
The last session, recommended for those who live in America, will take place at 22:00 UTC.
You can find out what the time is for your time zone using this time zone converter
There will be people available to answer questions and to help with any difficulty that might come up during the day.
Who is it aimed at?
This event is thought for anyone who wants to build a Debian package for the first time, it is a simple task that requires no previous knowledge, only a working installation of Debian (or UBuntu, or any Debian derived system). We particularly want to encourage women who want to get involved, and take the first steps towards contributing to Free Software, but everybody is welcome.
