The T-mobile G1 (HTC Dream), the handset that carries the Android operating system, already has a huge number of applications available through the Market.
One of the ones I was missing was an Ebooks reader, until I found the FBReaderJ project through freshmeat. Currently FBReaderJ supports the oeb, epub and fb2 formats, and in the future it will support the same ones as FBReader.
Since FBReaderJ is not in the market yet, to download it onto the handset I do it from the «Steel» browser (which is there), and then I installed it from the «Astro» file explorer.
I have already been able to read several books by Cory Doctorow, like his recent «Little Brother» in epub format, which are available on sites like feedbooks or manybooks. I have also tried reading books in fb2 format, but FBReaderJ in its current version gives me problems.
It is certainly an application I always keep in my sights, subscribed to the project’s news on freshmeat, and one I cannot stop recommending.
