Start:
- At the last frontier, cyberspace, our portal is reborn, where our station will be a place to learn.
- You will get to know operating systems, programming languages, shell scripts, computers, electronics, old games on machines unknown to most of the inhabitants of the net, documentation on programs for these systems, and cheat sheets to get you out of a bind on any task.
The fight of the day:
[TABLE]
Operating Systems:
Section run by the contributor PacoLinux
- Today’s computers have such computing power that it lets us get to know old architectures through emulators. Whether you want to get to know other operating systems by running them natively on a machine or through an emulator. Here we suggest a few.
- Try new operating systems, such as Plan9 http://plan9.bell-labs.com/plan9/, or Inferno http://www.vitanuova.com/ (which can run natively, or hosted on other operating systems such as GNU/Linux, Plan9, Windows or even as a plugin of a browser)
- And many more things that will soon be available in the Operating Systems folder
Fidonet:
The FIDO network, the network of BBS (Bulletin Board Systems) that was at its height in the 80s and 90s. You will learn how to connect over the telephone line or through the internet. We will recommend clients for the Fido network, and basic concepts so that you know there are more networks apart from the Internet.
- Fido newsgroup on USENET
- List of BBS operating in Spain
- Tutorial on configuring your Point software. (Aimed at Debian GNU/Linux)
Other projects:
- Visit sevilla.hacklabs.org to learn, share and experiment at the Hacklab of Seville.
- For a free culture, if you are legal, share
Old games:
- Visit the Club de Aventuras AD http://www.caad.es/.
(From the magazine Microhobby, devoted to the 8 bits, we saw at the beginning of the 90s the advert for CAAD, Club de Aventuras AD, which at that time was the means of communication for many fans of conversational adventures on the 8 bits. Years later, the fanzine became a website, a meeting place for the creators and fans of conversational adventures in Spanish)
- Do not miss the webzine SPAC Society for the promotion of conversational adventures. (Published periodically, a way of keeping up to date with the latest creations of this genre)
- Text mode games. Conquer, Dominion, Empire, Ularn, Rogue, Nethack… Soon you will know what they are, and we will show you how to try them in this section.
