Debconf9 - Debian Developers Conference in Cáceres, 2009

Debian is one of the most important distributions of the GNU/Linux operating system in the world, built with the collective effort of thousands of volunteers, who meet annually at the event called Debconf.

Debconf has taken place since the year 2000, in places as varied as Canada, Finland, Mexico, with speakers from all over the world. This event has been of great importance in the past for developing key components of the system, such as the Debian installer, or the internationalisation system.

Debian Day is the day reserved within these 2 weeks for the general public, where users of Debian or derived distributions like Ubuntu or Linex can attend during that day presentations and talks of more general interest
